Ad
layout for Unique Thrift Store. This layout was designed for Unique
Thrift while freelancing for the Free Times. The ad was designed
from scratch, with the text supplied. Unique Thrift approved this
ad on first draft.
Ad
layouts for the Free Times (and any other weekly or daily publication)
need to be completed within tight deadlines. Ninety percent of
all ads seen in the Free Times are developed and designed in-house
by the designers in the production department. This ad was designed
on spec, which means the client decides on spending their money
to advertise based on the layout concepts sent to them for approval.
The
concept for this ad was simple: thrift stores thrive on bargain
shoppers looking for unique or unusual goods at a bargain. Immediately
an old-style bike came to mind, especially with the tall, narrow
dimensions of the ad space. The bicycle clip art was downloaded
and tinted, and the ad came together from there.
