This digital illustration and design was done completely within Adobe Illustrator. I used an old illustration that had been sitting in my hard drive for just such an application as this. As these concert flyers are usually reproduced on a copy machine, the design needed to be effective in flat black and white, which is actually enjoyable to me. Having a limited set of tools to work with usually keeps a design tighter and more effective. One is more conscious of the interaction of point line and plane. Devilstrip is my personal band, and of course the rest of the guys let me do the illustration and design. |
